Fundraising Coordinator

Time Commitment

  • 3-5 hours per week.​

  • Due to the nature of this role, the preferred candidate is someone who can commit to volunteering with Hopeful Tails Dog Rescue on a long-term basis. If you are interested in applying, submit your application!

Responsibilities​

  • Identify and manage fundraising opportunities and events.

  • Promote awareness of HTDR’s mission and work.

  • Research and identify new fundraising opportunities such as grants and events.

  • Create event plans and present them to directors for approval.

  • Project manage/lead all aspects of fundraising events including budgets, logistics, staffing, and marketing.

  • Cultivate/nurture relationships with potential donors, businesses and stakeholders to gain financial support or product donations for events.

  • Research opportunities to build relationships through community outreach, including identifying potential speaking engagements, networking, and joint venture opportunities to increase awareness of HTDR.

  • Craft grant application proposals in collaboration with directors and rescue Coordinators.

  • Leverage technology and social media to improve fundraising activities.

  • Create communication plans and marketing materials (flyers, brochures, social media campaigns) to promote fundraising initiatives and HTDR.

  • Analyze the performance of events/fundraising initiatives for effectiveness and identify successes and areas for improvement for future events and present findings to directors.

  • Maintain records of donors, ensure confidentiality, and oversee regular communications with donors and stakeholders.

  • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to staff and train volunteers for events/fundraising initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Passion for dogs/animal rescue.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and commitment to providing the highest level of customer service to donors and stakeholders.

  • Experience writing grant proposals, press releases, and/or fundraising letters.

  • Knowledge of event planning practices.

  • Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Willingness to work as part of a team.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms, desktop publishing, and donor management systems.
