Aspen's transformation that led her to a beautiful coat and ultimately to her furever home.
One month ago we welcomed Aspen into our care. She had showed up at a rescuers home in a Northern Manitoba community covered in ticks and struggling with starvation and a skin condition. She was in rough shape. She was taken into the care of Save A Dog Network Canada, an emergency rescue in Winnipeg to see a vet. There are no veterinary services in these remote northern communities. Aspen was very underweight and anemic. Despite all of this, she is the sweetest and most loveable girl. She has been in foster care for one month where she received medicated baths, good quality food, lots of love and TLC, and remained under the watchful eye of her Northern foster sister, Kaya, a Hopeful Tails alumni. Aspen never lost her spirit. She remained loving and very playful throughout her healing.
One month later and just look at her now! Her recovery has been nothing short of amazing. Her anemia is gone and she has a clean bill of health. Aspen is now ready to move on to her furever home with a family so eager to welcome her into their lives and home. We are so grateful to Katie Power of Save A Dog Network. She runs an emergency dog rescue in Winnipeg. Her work in the Northern communities in Manitoba has saved so many lives and given hope to so many of these beautiful souls. With being an emergency rescue, her veterinary costs are enormous. Katie has devoted her life to rescuing these dogs and deserves our support.
