JOIN OUR TEAM
Available Volunteer Positions
We would not be able to do what we do at Hopeful Tails without Volunteers. We are able to make a difference together - so we welcome you to join our team! Do you have questions about an available position? Please feel free to send us an email and we will be happy to help.
In addition to the roles below, we're always looking for amazing fosters and flight angels! Click below to learn more.
Content Creator
As a content creator, you will assist the Marketing & Social Media Coordinators in the development of social media and website content. You will be primarily responsible for researching, designing, and developing engaging website and social media posts. Bonus points if you have knowledge of social media and advertising platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, and have experience with WIX.
Foster Coordinator
As a foster-based rescue, our foster team is the heart of our organization and is key to our success. We are looking for a Foster Coordinator to join our rescue. A few hours a week can make such a difference to the dogs waiting for their opportunity to find a loving home and family. As Foster Coordinator, you will work closely with the rest of our volunteers to recruit and onboard new fosters and find suitable placements for incoming dogs.
Adoption Coordinator
Getting dogs adopted into the perfect forever home requires someone with great organization skills and a good knowledge of dogs to oversee the process from initial contact with the potential adopter through the screening process to adoption day. A few hours a week, working with the support of our team, can lead to a happy ever after for a very deserving rescue dog and wonderful feeling of satisfaction for you.
Fundraising Coordinator
We are seeking a seasoned fundraiser to join our tight-knit team. In this role, you will use your expert communication and interpersonal skills and keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing grant proposals, and leading volunteers, you will hone your speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while helping our rescue achieve our financial goals. If you are passionate about dogs and animal rescue and are motivated, organized, have a knack for research, and enjoy a good party/event, this is the volunteer position for you.
General Volunteer Roles
Reference Checker
We need individuals who can periodically contribute 1-2 hours to complete reference checks by phone when their schedule allows. As a Reference Checker Volunteer, you are responsible for contacting a potential Foster's/Adopter's references and completing a reference form to be submitted to one of our Coordinators for their review to ensure that each dog is going to a safe and loving home.
Home Visit Volunteer
Once a Foster/Adopter has had their references checked, a volunteer will conduct a home visit (in person or virtual) to ensure that the home is safe and any potential hazards are identified. You will perform the home visit using our rescue’s template and your completed form will be provided to a Coordinator for review. You can sign up to perform a home visit (1-2 hours) when you have time.
Events Volunteer
Running a rescue requires funds to ensure that all dogs receive the medical and training care they need as well as supplies including food, beds and crates. Events such as Adoption Days and fundraising events will require a team of enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers to help run them successfully. If you enjoy people, and dogs, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.
